44 Scientifically-Designed Presets for Focus, Sleep, Study, Meditation, Anxiety Relief, Lucid Dreaming & Peak Performance
Below are the most-used presets from the library, grouped by goal. The full set of 40 lives in the mobile app โ the browser generator runs four free presets so you can try the engine before installing. See the web vs mobile app comparison to decide which version fits you.
Two numbers, and only one of them matters much.
Every preset lists a beat frequency and a carrier. The beat is the difference between the two tones and is the number that does the work — it is chosen to sit in the range your brain already produces during the state you want. The carrier is just the audible pitch the beat rides on, and it is largely interchangeable.
Match the band to the goal rather than hunting for a magic number: delta (0.5–4 Hz) for sleep, theta (4–8 Hz) for meditation and creative incubation, alpha (8–14 Hz) for calm and relaxed focus, beta (14–30 Hz) for analytical work, gamma (30 Hz and up) for demanding cognitive tasks. Within a band the exact figure matters far less than people expect — you cannot consciously tell 9 Hz from 10 Hz.
Stereo headphones are required. The effect exists only because each ear receives its own tone; through speakers the two mix in the air and nothing is left. Keep the volume low, give it fifteen to thirty minutes, and judge it across a fortnight rather than a single session. If nothing happens at all, this guide covers the nine usual reasons.

For study blocks use Study — 15 Hz beta on a 195 Hz carrier, recommended at 50 minutes. Switch to Memory Boost (5 Hz theta) when you are consolidating rather than taking material in: theta suits encoding, beta suits working through problems. Reading Focus (16 Hz) is the one for long-form reading.
Focus (20 Hz) is for single-task immersion. Reading Focus (16 Hz) is gentler and sustained, built for 45 minutes of text. Problem Solving (18 Hz) sits between them for analytical work. Energy (25 Hz) and Peak Performance (40 Hz gamma) are deliberately short — 15 and 20 minutes — not all-day settings.
Yes, and that is the intended use, because you want different states at different hours. A common pattern is beta for focused work in the morning, alpha such as Relax or Quick Refresh between blocks, and delta in the evening. Less useful is running one frequency all day — that is closer to background noise, which is a legitimate but different thing.
Each preset carries its own recommended duration, from 10 minutes for Quick Refresh to 90 for Lucid Dream — Layered. As a rule, under about ten minutes rarely gives the state time to settle, and 15 to 30 minutes is the usual range. Sleep programmes are the exception and can run longer.
Relax — 10 Hz alpha, 20 minutes. Alpha is the brain’s resting rhythm, it is the range with the most supporting research, and it is the least demanding thing to sit with. Move toward whichever goal brought you here once that feels familiar.
The carrier is the audible pitch the beat rides on — 200 Hz in Relax, with a 10 Hz difference between the ears. It is largely interchangeable; the beat is what does the work. One practical note: low carriers such as the 100 Hz in Sleep can sound thin or nearly inaudible on small earbuds.
