2.1 Information We DO NOT Collect

Brainwave Generator is designed with privacy in mind. We DO NOT directly collect, store, or transmit:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Audio recordings
• User-generated content
• Contacts or photos
• Any other personally identifiable information

2.2 Local Data Storage (Mobile App)

The mobile app stores the following data locally on your device only:

• App settings and preferences
• Custom alarm configurations
• Selected brainwave presets
• Language preferences

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third parties.

2.3 Website Data Collection

When you visit our website, certain data may be collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies by our third-party service providers (see Section 3).

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Google AdSense (Website)

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites on the internet. Google may collect and process certain data including:

3.2 Google AdMob (Mobile App)

3.3 Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on our website to understand how visitors interact with our site. GA4 collects:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Referring website or source
• Browser and device information
• General geographic location (country/city level)
• Interaction events (clicks, scrolls, downloads)

3.4 Microsoft Clarity (Website)

With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our pages. Clarity records anonymised interaction data and can replay a de-identified reconstruction of a browsing session, including:

• Mouse movements, clicks, taps and scroll depth
• Page navigation paths and time on page
• Browser, device type and screen size
• General geographic location (country level)

Clarity does not capture the contents of form fields, and we run it with content masking enabled so that text you type is not recorded. Microsoft acts as an independent data controller for this data. Read the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Health-related pages are excluded. We deliberately do not run Clarity on our self-assessment pages (such as the anxiety self-check and the quiz), because answers on those pages could reveal information about your health. Nothing you enter or select there is recorded or transmitted to Microsoft.

3.5 App Store Analytics

Apple App Store and Google Play Store may collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. This data is managed by Apple and Google respectively, not by us.

3.6 Newsletter (Website Only)

This website offers an optional email newsletter. The mobile app has no accounts and never asks for an email address — installing or using the app subscribes you to nothing, and the two are entirely separate.

If you choose to subscribe on the website:

• What we collect: your email address, and a short label recording which page you subscribed from (for example blog or tool_result).
• Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We use double opt-in, so nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link. If you never confirm, the address is not used.
• Processor: the address is passed to our email service provider, which stores and sends on our behalf under a data processing agreement. It is never sold, traded or shared for any other purpose.
• Withdrawal: every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes the address from the list; you may also email us to request erasure.
• Retention: until you unsubscribe, or until the address hard-bounces.

We never include self-assessment answers, quiz results or any health-related information in the newsletter data. Those stay in your browser and are not transmitted to us at all.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. Here are the types of cookies we use:

4.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies and local storage entries are necessary for the website to function, such as remembering your language preference and recording your cookie choice (bwg_consent_v1). They are always active and do not require consent.

4.2 Analytics Cookies

Google Analytics cookies (e.g., _ga, _ga_*) help us understand how visitors use our website. These cookies collect information in an aggregated form.

4.3 Session Analytics Cookies

Microsoft Clarity cookies (_clck, _clsk) link interaction events to a single, anonymous browsing session so that usage patterns can be analysed. These are set only after you consent, and never on our health-related self-assessment pages.

4.4 Advertising Cookies

Google AdSense cookies (e.g., DoubleClick, __gads) are used to serve relevant advertisements and measure ad performance. These cookies may track your browsing activity across websites.

4.5 Your Consent Choice

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, non-essential cookies stay switched off until you accept them. We implement Google Consent Mode v2: before you make a choice, analytics and advertising services run in a restricted mode that does not store cookies or identifiers on your device, and Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time — it is as easy to reject as it is to accept:

We use the information collected through third-party services to:

• Delete: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data; clear browser cookies to remove website tracking data

• Modify: You can change any settings within the app at any time

10. International Users

Our application and website are available globally in 176 countries and 16 languages. Website data processed by Google services may be transferred internationally in accordance with Google's data processing terms.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy
• Displaying a notice in the app (for significant changes)

Continued use of the application or website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. While we do not directly collect personal information, third-party services like Google may process data as described in this policy. You have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell your data.

For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, our legal basis for setting analytics and advertising cookies is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive). Essential cookies rely on our legitimate interest in operating the site. No non-essential cookie is set before you accept, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — see Section 4.5.

We do not process special category data under Art. 9 GDPR. Our self-assessment pages run entirely in your browser: answers are never transmitted to us or to any third party, and session recording is disabled on those pages.
